Disciplinary Positioning.Oilfield Machinery is the second-level discipline master's degree program with the strongest industry recognition in the school. Relying on the construction of the "Oilfield Machinery" second-level discipline doctoral program, it is the concentrated embodiment of the school's petroleum machinery characteristics at the graduate training level. This degree program directly addresses the training needs of senior scientific and technological talents in the field of oil and gas equipment research, development, and manufacturing, and is of great significance for serving the national energy security strategy.
Research Directions.Four training directions are established: petroleum machinery design and theory, petroleum machinery fault diagnosis and simulation, petroleum fluid machinery and engineering, and modern drilling and production machinery.
Training Characteristics and Supporting Conditions. The degree program is deeply integrated with the "Hubei Provincial Engineering Technology Research Center for Oil and Gas Drilling and Completion Tools," with research covering key fields such as drilling tools, solid control and fracturing equipment, offshore modular drilling and workover rigs, and pipe string fatigue life assessment, and some results have been directly applied in engineering practice. The school has long-term industry-university-research accumulation in the oilfield machinery direction and has established graduate work stations and joint research platforms with enterprises such as Sinopec. Graduates are mainly employed in professional positions such as oil and gas equipment design, failure analysis, and technical management.
This direction has a second-level doctoral program and can enroll doctoral students.
