Disciplinary Positioning. The professional master's degree program in Mechanical Engineering is an engineering-oriented applied degree authorization category established in parallel with the academic master's degree program. It shares the school's disciplinary platforms and faculty resources with the first-level discipline master's degree program in Mechanical Engineering, but in training orientation it places greater emphasis on engineering practice capability, technology integration capability, and industry adaptability.
Research Directions.Training directions are established in mechanical structures and strength, mechatronic system simulation and diagnosis technology, modern drilling and production machinery design, new energy vehicles, petroleum fluid machinery and engineering, oil and gas equipment safety engineering, and others. The setting of these directions is directly aligned with the engineering needs of the petroleum equipment, intelligent manufacturing, and new energy industries.
Training Characteristics and Supporting Conditions. The school is a construction unit of the Hubei Provincial Modern Industry College for Intelligent Manufacturing of Petroleum and Petrochemical Equipment, and is also a council (alliance) member unit of the China Machinery Industry Excellence Engineer Education Alliance and the China Petroleum and Petrochemical Equipment Industry Association, with a solid foundation in industry-education integration. The degree program relies on practical platforms such as the "Hubei Provincial Experimental Teaching Demonstration Center for Mechanical Engineering Training" and the "Ministry of Education—Swiss GF Intelligent Manufacturing Innovation Practice Cultivation Base," as well as university-enterprise joint training bases such as the "Yangtze University—Sinopec Petroleum Engineering Machinery Co., Ltd. Fourth Machinery Factory Graduate Work Station," and focuses on cultivating graduate students' ability to solve complex engineering problems in real engineering scenarios.
